David Benson, LCSW
Mr. David Benson, LCSW is an experienced therapist, with expertise in providing treatment of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder and related emotional reactions, such as anxiety and depression stemming from trauma exposure. The primary focus of Mr. Benson’s work has been serving in the military, and later, serving other Veterans.
Mr. Benson was an enlisted servicemember of the Air Force, and earned the rank of E7. He was then commissioned as an officer and retired after 23 years of service. He is a combat Veteran and served in the Persian Gulf War.
After he retired from military service, he completed a Master’s of Social Work degree. He has over 20 years of experience providing counseling services, primarily in public service, but also in private practice. He has training and experience in utilizing techniques that are effective in trauma recovery, such as Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), and Hypnosis, as well as more traditional therapy approaches.
Trauma can impact people of all ages and walks of life. While Veterans and active duty Servicemembers often are exposed to trauma, children and civilians experience trauma as well. Over the years, Mr. Benson has helped hundreds of individuals recover from traumas experienced from early childhood to adulthood.
