Dr. Natalie Yates, Ph.D.

I am a Licensed Clinical Social worker, and recently obtained my PhD in Social work, with a concentration in Family and child interventions. I have been working with children for over ten years. I specialize in working with children and adolescents between the ages of 5 and 18 who are having trouble expressing themselves, shows obvious signs of low self- esteem, aggression, isolation, depression, or anxiety. I use an eclectic approach of combining play and art therapy along with cognitive behavioral therapy. I welcome sitting down with parents and teachers to help them have a better understanding of what’s going on with the child or adolescent in their lives and provided strategies that can help the child or adolescent as school or home. I also work with individuals that may feel alone in their battle with depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, anger, or is unsure of the future because of the inability to adapt to life changes.

Being able to work with the family and the school helps to make sure that the all of the different systems that the child and adolescent are involved in work together for their benefit and helps them to feel supported. Therapy can assist a child or adolescent with developing a better understand of who they are, during this difficult time in their lives. I work with the child and their parents to help them find a solution that the child and the parent can be comfortable with.

I am a DIYer and enjoy building and making several different crafts that I see on Pinterest. I enjoy listening to music, bowling, and spending time with my family.
