Piedmont Counseling Center provides outpatient mental health services.  We serve individuals, couples, and families of all ages.  People come to us for help for all kinds of issues.  Our staff have strong generalist skills in outpatient psychotherapy and are able to help with many common issues, such as learning to better cope with stress, overcoming depression, grieving, and adjusting to significant life changes.  In addition to these general therapy skills, our staff also specialize in several key areas.

Dr. Natalie Yates specializes in working with children and adolescents.  If your child is having mood problems, difficulty adjusting to school, or you are having challenges with parenting, Dr. Yates can help.  Dr. Yates also works well with women’s issues.

Dr. Dave Spriggs specializes in helping with relationship issues, such as marital problems, pre-marital counseling, and couples counseling.  Dr. Spriggs also works well with individuals who are working towards recovery from depression, anxiety, and panic attacks.

Dr. Spriggs also specializes in Christian Counseling and has advanced training in integrating Christian Spirituality with the counseling process in a manner that is ethical.  Dr. Spriggs is skilled at helping Christian patients discuss faith issues (such as forgiveness) during the counseling process.  Finally, Dr. Spriggs works well with clergy.  Dr. Spriggs evaluates candidates for ordination in the Wesleyan Denomination and is a frequently used referral source for Wesleyan Pastors.
